TROWBRIDGE travel agents are witnessing a rise in customers despite fears of terror attacks worldwide, the war in Iraq and the Sars outbreak .
Sales had slumped during the last month but the signs point to business heading back to normal.
Jo Hussey, a sales assistant at Howard Travel, Church Walk, said: "We are inundated with inquiries at the moment."
She said they did notice a drop in sales when the war started.
"The turning point was one Saturday four weeks ago and from then it's just been busy," she said.
Howard Travel deals with various holidays from going off around the world to UK and Mediterranean breaks.
"People have asked about Sars. When they found China was a no-go area they came in and we found them something else," she said.
"I think the Brits are pretty resilient."
Going Places on Fore Street has felt a sharp drop in custom over the last month but business is returning to normal, according to sales assistant Hayley Bray.
She said many people, especially families, are unsure about booking holidays abroad at the moment and are opting for the UK instead.
Lunn Poly spokesman Kimberly Kay said they had also seen a slump in sales during the war but that bookings are on the up. She said their business had not been effected by Sars as the outbreak was concentrated in the Far East, well away from popular holiday destinations.
