TROWBRIDGE gained a comfortable home victory in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Division One.
Trowbridge were put in to a dry track but a damp onfield. The wintry weather made it difficult to get going and the innings was broken up by three interruptions.
The innings spluttered along at a pedestrian run rate until the 30th over.
The injection of runs from Cornelius Burger and Rob Edginton upped the score over the 100 mark, and Des Gingell and Dave Hiscocks cut loose to bring the total up to 150 from the last ball of the 45th over.
Respect went to the opening bowler Carter who bowled his 15 overs straight off and managed to consistently beat the bat. His three wickets all came in a five over spell in the middle of his spell where he conceded only six runs.
Where the first innings was interrupted by rain throughout, the second innings started in sunshine.
Burger was unplayable at times as he repeated the feat of Carter by bowling his 15 overs straight off.
The difference between the two teams was the support from the other end, as Dave Neville and then Dave Hiscocks kept the pressure on the visiting batsmen.
Following an untidy run out, Burger caused Carter to play on and the score stood at 4-2. Two consolidating partnerships were broken by Hiscocks through a catch in the gully by Ben Whiting, then clean bowling Douse.
Nick Whiting took a catch stood up to remove Lambert, and once Burger forced the captain Harrington to play at the bouncer the tail was exposed.
Burger and Hiscocks shared the next two wickets, before some sharp fielding by Richard Holbrook ended the innings 94 runs in arrears.
