The Skoda Octavia range gets a boost with the addition of the 1.9 TDI PD 130 engine. This is the first time the Pumpe Dse (PD) direct injection diesel engine has been available in the Octavia.

This new engine variant is on sale at Skoda retailers throughout the UK in both hatch and estate versions. On the road prices start at £14,990 for the Elegance hatch.

Pumpe Dse technology provides higher power output and torque in the same TDI engine size, while still achieving good fuel economy and low emissions.

The maximum performance in this engine is 130 bhp at 4,000 rpm. However, the big story for the driver is the additional torque: the TDI PD 130 delivers 310 Nm at 1,900 rpm.

This new technology will be available in the Elegance and the top-of-the-range Laurin & Klement trim levels. Specification on these vehicles will be in line with the rest of the range.

The Octavia Elegance includes 16" alloy wheels, electrically operated sunroof, driver and passenger front and side airbags, headlight washers, centre front armrest and climate control.

In addition, the Laurin & Klement trim offers its own style 16" alloys, xenon headlights, chrome instrument bezels, cruise control, heated front seats, leather gear knob, upgraded stereo speakers, leather or alcantara upholstery, plus free-of-charge metallic paint.

The traditional wood and chrome trim on the interior of the Laurin & Klement models has been replaced with an attractive granite and chrome trim. Recommended on-the-road prices for the hatch and estate in Laurin & Klement trim are £16,490 and £17,190 respectively.
