THE SHIRES shopping centre in Trowbridge is to get new toilets as part of its refurbishment.
Work starts on modernising the toilets near the Iceland store on June 9 and is expected to be completed by August 4.
The alterations involve ripping out the existing toilets, installing new plumbing, cubicles, tiling and redecoration.
Mike Murray, centre manager, said: "We would like to apologise to the public for the disruption but we hope people will understand. The upgrade is needed to improve the centre's facilities and it is hoped people will appreciate the work that's been done and make every effort to maintain the toilets in good order."
The refit is part of a scheme to improve the shopping centre which has begun off with £500,000 worth of repairs and improvements to the car park.
"Notices are being posted round the shopping mall counting down the days to the closure, much as we did when the smoking ban was introduced," said Mr Murray.
Meantime, shoppers will find the nearest public toilets at the Castle Place shopping centre and in the town park.
