DEVIZES police have warned HGV drivers not to leave fuel cards in their cabs after a series of raids.
Lorries have been broken into in the Devizes area in the past few weeks and fuel cards, which can be used with PIN numbers to obtain diesel from certain pumps, stolen.
These cards have been used to steal 8,356 litres of diesel, valued at between £5,000 and £6,000, from depots in Southampton and Ringwood, Hants.
Sgt Guy Williams of Devizes police said: "I don't know how they have got hold of the PIN numbers, but they have and it has resulted in the theft of a lot of fuel."
A blue Transit van with a black stripe on its side was seen at the time of the card thefts and police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen it to come forward.
