JONATHAN Humphreys claims Bath are relishing the chance to sign off a troubled season in style with victory in the Parker Pen Challenge Cup final against Wasps on Sunday.

The 1998 European champions endured a traumatic campaign this term, narrowly avoiding relegation from the Zurich Premiership on the last day of the season.

But against Wasps they have the perfect opportunity to roll back the years at the Madejski Stadium and Humphreys declared: "We have never played a game this season without pressure."

The former Wales captain added: "It is a welcome change, a relief, and we are all looking forward to judging ourselves against what is the form side in the Zurich Premiership over recent months."

Coaches Brian Smith and Mike Foley have virtually a full squad to pick from, with Adam Vander (foot), number eight Nathan Thomas (back) and Andy Lloyd (back) the men unavailable.

"I am absolutely gutted", said player of the year Thomas.

"It is the first injury that I have picked up all season, and I was really looking forward to playing in a big final where with the pressure off, we have a chance of really expressing ourselves."

The match will be the last in Bath colours for John Mallett and Tom Voyce.

One-time England prop Mallett is set to end his 12-year association with the club to become director of rugby at Brighton College, while Voyce is ironically set for a summer move to Wasps.
