An all-girl chess team from Holy Rood School will clash with mixed teams from Lethbridge, and Noremarsh, in Wootton Bassett, when this season's closely fought primary chess leagues culminate in an inter-league grand final next month.
With almost all fixtures completed, and just one match left to play, Holy Rood have not dropped a single point in the Girls' league and Lethbridge, with the same record in the Swindon A2 league, can now not be overtaken.
The Old Town school's B team has already won the B league with maximum points. Wootton Bassett's Noremarsh won the Swindon A1 league after a shock defeat of the favourites, Westlea. North Bradley school, which won the West Wilts League, will take fourth slot in the final, to be hosted by Lethbridge on June 14.
