Taunton and Pickeridge teenager Katie Walls won the Somerset women's championship at Saltford.
The Welsh junior international beat Lansdown's former professional Beverley New by two holes in the final.
New led the qualifiers. Her opening round of 73 was by far the best of the day and she followed with 77 to lead Becky Dowell (Enmore Park, 76 78) by four and Alison Pitt (Bath, 81 77) by eight.
In the first round of the matchplay Amanda Mayne (Saltford) beat June Millington (Mendip), Jackie Reeves (Bath) beat Fiona Johnston (Taunton and Pickeridge), Pitt beat Hannah Grant (Enmore Park), New beat Kate Charles (Burnham/Berrow), Louise Worth (Enmore Park) beat Sarah Waugh (Orchardleigh), Walls beat Donna O'Connell (Burnham), Katie Bassett (Windwhistle) beat Kelly Gallier (Burnham), Dowell beat Glenda Latham (Weston-super-Mare).
Quarter finals: New beat Worth, Mayne beat Reeves, Pitt lost to Walls, Bassett beat Dowell.
Semi finals: New beat Mayne 8 and 6, Walls beat Bassett 6 and 4.
Fiona Johnson, aged 16, returned two scores below her handicap of seven although she took nine putts on her two visits to the fourth hole.
She, Walls and Rosemary Spragg won the Holt Shield for the three best 36-hole net scores from one club.
