FOR anybody who wants to take to the skies this summer, the Vale of the White Horse Gliding Club says it has the answer.
The club is holding open days on June 7 and June 8, and everyone is welcome to attend and watch gliders in action.
Trial lessons will also be available using two-seater training aircraft flown by British Gliding Association qualified instructors. After being towed up 2,000 feet by a light aircraft, the glider is released and stays in the air for 20 to 30 minutes.
Each trial lesson costs £45, with two months' free membership for newcomers to the club.
The club, which has 40 members, meets one mile outside Shrivenham at a site off the B4000 from Shrivenham to Highworth. For more information call Mike Leach on Swindon 725265 or see the website www.swindongliding.co.uk
