FORMER Swindon Town player Tom Jones was left to savour a feast of football as Supermarine hosted a six-a-side tournament bearing his name.
More than 600 spectators watched 30 sides from Under 7 level through to Under 11 battle it out over three days.
Jones said: "It's a wonderful set-up and you could see the kids' eyes light up when they arrived.
"It's like playing in a mini-soccer stadium and the atmosphere on all three days was fantastic.
"The feedback I've had both during the tournament itself and afterwards has been very, very positive.
"I know the kids loved the fact that some of the finals were played under floodlights.
"Jimmy Fraser from Swindon Town was among those watching so although the emphasis is on fun, you never know what might come of these things.
"The great thing is that parents and kids are already looking forward to next year."
The tournament winners were as follows Under 7: Greenmeadow; Under 8: Stratton Juniors; Under 9 : Highworth; Under 10 : Brunel; Under 11: Ferndale.
