THIEVES got away with a £26,000 haul when they targeted a Highworth golf club for the second time in three months.
Staff at the Wrag Barn Golf and Country Club believe the same people are responsible for both raids.
In the latest, thieves took 100 high quality clubs after breaking into a shop on the Shrivenham Road complex at 2.40am yesterday.
Golf coach Mark Osborn, who lives above the shop, heard the sound of breaking glass and called the police.
Officers arrived just as the thieves were leaving but lost them as they headed along the A420 into Oxfordshire.
The intruders removed a metal security frame covering a serving hatch to get in. Many of the clubs taken were brands such as Callaway and Titleist, and had titanium heads and graphite shafts.
Thieves stole a similar number of clubs, worth around £26,000, during a raid on March 4.
Barry Loughrey, head professional golfer at the club, which has 650 members, said staff believed the same gang was responsible.
He said: "Mark Osborn recognised their voices, and believes they are the same thieves. He heard four different people. It's very frustrating and annoying."
Anyone with information should call the police on Swindon 528111.
