This year's Open moves back to Royal St George's at Sandwich in Kent and Ernie Els will defend the title he won after a play-off at Muirfield last year.
The course adjoins Princes, another famous links, and Peter Godsiff, editor of South West Golfer, took this picture of the 12th hole at St George's with the old boarded-up Princes clubhouse just over the boundary fence.
Princes now has a spanking new clubhouse that is still being finished.
It is a splendid new building to cater for the many members and visitors using the 27-hole complex of three loops of nine.
Everything is being prepared for another dramatic Open.
