THIEVES threw a lump of concrete through a side window of the Gluepot pub in the heart of Swindon's Railway Village and stole a payphone containing £100 in cash.
The theft happened in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday. Joint owner Eamonn Kemp, who has run the pub with business partner Dawn Isles for the past three years, said: "There was some noise outside the pub and then a loud crash. We discovered the window had been smashed and a payphone ripped from the wall and stolen.
"It seems it was a quiet night. The theft is pretty inexplicable and it seems really crazy to take such a risk for such a small amount of money I reckon it was probably drug addicts looking for a quick fix."
Police found blood on the window and removed a section of glass for examination.
