ARRANGERS from the Wroughton Flower Club came home from the 81st Chelsea Flower Show wreathed in glory.
Chairwoman of the Wroughton Flower Club, Anne Bartlett, and fellow enthusiast Jean Drumm were awarded a silver medal for their kaleidoscope themed arrangement - the third highest medal.
The pair had been invited to represent the club at the annual event held at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, London last week.
Anne said: "It really was a wonderful experience.
"We were honoured to represent our club and we really tried our hardest."
Anne and Jean travelled up to London the day before the opening of the four-day show.
They worked overnight, along with the 12 other teams entered for their kaleidoscope theme, to ensure their arrangement was perfect in every detail.
"It was really hard work, but it was made easier because there were other teams there working away as well. There was a lovely atmosphere and it was great just to be there.
"Neither Jean or I ever dreamed we would exhibit at Chelsea.
"We are both extremely grateful for the help and support we have been given by our fellow club members."
The pair's award-winning arrangement echoed the theme of kaleidoscope featuring a huge range of flowers, from chrysanthemums to sedums, creating a sweep of different colours.
"The theme was a lovely one for our arrangement.
"We went for blues and pinks mainly."
The Chelsea Flower Show is held annually for four days in May.
It has been held at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea since 1913.
Originally known as the Great Spring Show, it was first held in Kensington in 1862.
n The Wroughton Flower Club welcomes new members.
The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at Wroughton Parish Hall in Priors Hill at 7.30pm.
However, the club will next meet at the Ellendune Centre on June 10 for its open meeting.
