Chipping Sodbury seniors' captain Tony Jones held his away day at Bowood, near Chippenham. But one member, Mike Matthews, thought the venue was Cheltenham.
Off he drove to the Gloucestershire Regency town but was unable to find a Bowood Golf and Country Club. He was politely informed of the exact location.
After finally arriving and playing he realised he had forgotten to bring a jacket and tie for the presentation. This meant another journey, to his home at Yate. He returned 15 minutes before sitting down to dinner .
So for his efforts and determination he was awarded the Longest Drive of the Day, 100 miles.
