Ross Page (Henbury) is still searching for her first English matchplay championship. She battled hard at The Berkshire but lost the final.
She led the 16 qualifiers with a two-under-par 71, containing six birdies, to lead by three strokes. She followed with 76.
Lansdown's three-handicapper Val MacFarlane qualified in sixth after 82 and 76. They met in the semi-final that proved to be an epic. It was resolved on the par five 24th, when Page won with a par.
The she lost to Christine Watson (Beaconsfield) who was one-under-par when the match finished on the 15th.
