SIXTEEN Pewsey youngsters have proved to be competent cyclists after taking part in a unique scheme.
They were handed their National Cycling Proficiency certificates by PC Chris Mead and Wiltshire County Council Road Safety Officer Jackie Cripps at Pewsey Fire Station after undertaking what is believed to be the only school holiday cycling scheme run by police officers.
Rather than using a playground, the Pewsey course takes place using the roads of the estates in the village.
Children aged six to 11 take part in the training sessions every Easter.
This year, there was a 100 per cent pass rate. Certificates went to: Dominic Brown, William McKay, Thomas Keen, George Kimber, Joshua Marsden, Alex Jones, Jamie Keepence, Holly Amor, Thomas Tebbatt, Kieran Stagg, Nicole Edwards, Briony Morris, Cara Jenkinson, Harry Jenkins, Daniel Lane and Jordan Mair.
