A VOLUNTEER litter patrol filled 12 bags with rubbish from around the station yard and river at Malmesbury.
A no waiting sign was also fished out of the water by the 12 members of Malmesbury St Paul Without Residents Association who volunteered to help with the clean.
Association press officer Ross Mackie said: "There wasn't as much rubbish collected as in previous years."
The spring clean day was organised by the town council and run to coincide with the Tidy Britain campaign.
Treasurer for the association Tony Fowler said the event was well attended by members.
He said: "It was a very good morning. The rain held off and we managed to bag quite a lot.
"The rubbish is always the same, sweet wrappers. It is just kids who can't be bothered to find the bin."
