Bridport 272-4 bt Fovant 146-6 by 109 runs
(rain affected match)
PUT in to bat, Bridport took advantage of the conditions as Fovant's bowlers found it increasingly difficult to control a greasy ball in the persistent drizzle.
John Wheetlow made an outstanding 153 and he was supported by Sean Fitzgerald, 48, and Paul Tweddle, 42 not out.
Four overs were lost to rain, but even a reduced target proved beyond Fovant's capabilities, despite a defiant 86 from Tim Horn, and 20 from Joe Turner.
Andy Shering took 2-7 as the visitors wrapped up victory in the gathering gloom with Fovant having the dubious consolation of gaining six points more than the UK's entry in that evening's Eurovision Song Contest.
