Hampshire Cricket League County Division One
Redlynch and Hale I v BAT Sports II
HAVING won the toss, BAT skipper Chris Adams had little hesitation in asking Redlynch and Hale to bat first in this rain-affected game reduced to 33 overs.
Runs were hard to come by early on, but Trevor Pit-man, at number three, laid the foundation of a decent score with a powerful knock of 52 off only 48 balls.
With solid support from John Beckett, 29, skipper Ian Stevens, 35, and Mark Elkins 15 not out, the home side posted a competitive 148-4.
In reply, the visitors struggled against the experienced Rod England, 11-0-36-1, young Matt Truckle, 7-0-22-2, and all rounder Mark Elkins, 4-0-15-1. However, the rain rescued the visitors in the 23rd over with them on 76-4 chasing an unlikely revised target of 113 from 25 overs.
