LDCC Fonthill 215-4
bt Potterne 139
AFTER comfortably beating Redlynch & Hale in the previous round, LDCC saw off Wilts Division One team Potterne by 75 runs on Sunday.
Potterne must have regretted their decision to ask LDCC to bat on a damp wicket at Fonthill Park, when Ali Scott-Gall, 75, and Tim Horn, 44, put on 125 for the first wicket.
Contributions from Hugo Scott-Gall, 24, and Simon Roundell, 30, boosted the total to 215-4 after 40 overs.
Potterne never recovered from losing their opener in Tom Parnell's first over.
Peter Slade also bowled tightly, but it was Nick Trueman who provided the highlight by narrowly missing out on a second hat-trick of clean bowled victims in successive matches.
Thanks to a brave last wicket partnership, Pott-erne delayed the inevit-able until the 40th over when they were all out for 139.
LDCC now play either Spye Park or Winsley in the next round at Fonthill Park on Sunday, June 8.
