MID-WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: Roundway Cup Final, Linpac Sports and Social Cup Final
JB's Lions 4 Bar OC 3
JB's Lions retained the Mid Wiltshire League's Roundway Cup with a dramatic extra-time victory over Bar OC.
Lions took the lead after 35 minutes of an end-to-end contest when Graham Macdonald flicked in Simon Gaines' corner.
Bar's Andy Webster hit a post from 18 yards four minutes later as Lions held on to their fragile lead until the interval.
But Bar did equalise ten minutes into the second half when Webster tapped the ball home after a failed clearance.
Bar then took the lead 16 minutes later as Kev Hammersley headed home Craig Watts' corner, but the Lions almost equalised immediately when Macdonald's header rolled along the top of the crossbar.
JB's levelled 15 minutes from time when Gaines fired home a 25-yard free-kick, only for Bar to regain the lead a minute later through Tom Evans' cool finish.
Bar OC looked on course for victory until five minutes from time when Gaines headed home from Ian Gibson's cross to take the game in to extra time.
The winner arrived five minutes into the first additional period as Gibson let fly from range.
Peter Smith of sponsors Cereal Partners UK presented the Referee, Dave Pound, the Assistant Referees, Dave Marmont and Will Todd, and the Club's their awards, and also presented Gaines the man of the match trophy.
Linpac Sports and Social Cup Final
Dolphin 4, Selectabook 2
THE Dolphin finally end Selectabook's monopoly on the Linpac trophy after four years with a fine 4-2 win.
The Dolphin opened the scoring within five minutes when Jonny Emm rounded two defenders and shot into the top corner.
But a penalty six minutes later was converted by David Hopkins to put the Bookmen back on level terms.
Dolphin regained the lead when Emm was brought down in the area and he duly converted from the spot for his second.
The second half started in explosive fashion, with both teams having several shots on target in the first 10 minutes, but two magnificent saves by Mark Stonestreet kept The Dolphin ahead. It took 35 minutes of the half before the Bookmen eventually got their equaliser when David Lloyd showed great composure to fire home from 25 yards.
But with five minutes left to play, a through ball by Emm saw Andy Bevan-Witts beat the offside trap and coolly slot home to put The Dolphin back in front.
And in the final minute, Emm robbed a defender and walked the ball into an empty net for his hat-trick and The Dolphins fourth.
Kevin Earley of the Linpac Sports & Social Club presented the Referee, Will Todd, Assistant Referees, Ian Currie and John Windess and the two teams with their medals.
Hat-trick hero Emm received the man of the match award.
The League Presentation was held immediately after the Linpac final by league secretary Sue Saunderson, with Selectabook taking the league winners prize and Devizes Snooker Club runners up.
Best club secretary was Rob Stickley of Devizes Snooker Club, with Will Todd best referee and Matty Strong of Bar OC top club assistant.
Most Sporting Club were Trowbridge Wanderers, and Jonny Emm of The Dolphin rounded off a fine afternoon by taking the top scorer's prize.
