OVERCAST skies and a threat of rain did not deter Amesbury residents from turning out to enjoy the annual Beat Retreat ceremony in the town centre on Thursday evening.
One of the most popular military bands in the country, the Lucknow Band of the Prince of Wales' Division, performed the ceremony during which a collection was made for the Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association.
The Beat Retreat took place in the town's central car park which was closed off for the evening.
