A YOUTH group is appealing for 160 tonnes of sub-soil to build a £10,000 BMX facility for youngsters.
Corsham Youth Issues Committee says it needs the large donation of soil before work can begin on the site.
The facility has been in the pipeline for over a year and it is hoped that it will be completed by the end of the year. The town council is currently looking for funding to match fund a grant from North Wiltshire District Council's Area Four committee.
Town clerk David Martin said the group were appealing to local farmers and builders in the area who had unwanted soil.
"It needs to be free from large stones and other debris. We also need it delivered to the site," said Mr Martin.
At present youngsters have built their own mounds out of earth on the field behind Springfield Leisure Centre, near Valley Road.
The council plans to develop these into a proper, secure facility once all the funding has been secured.
If anyone has any soil to donate, please contact Mr Martin on (01249) 702130.
