INNOTIVE students have developed an award-winning marketing campaign to promote shops in Corsham town centre.
The business studies sixth formers at Corsham School have formed a young enterprise group called Epiphany and have been working closely with local businesses to put the town back on the map.
The campaign consists of posters, leaflets and a website that give information on what Corsham retailers have to offer.
During the last six months the students have been working closely with businessman and councillor Allan Bosley to develop the strategy.
Coun Bosley said it was a sustainable project: "This project is demonstrating that community planning can really work," he said.
The campaign has been developed through a partnership of local groups. North Wiltshire District Council provided the funding and the Corsham Area Partnership identified the need and co-ordinated the scheme.
The Chamber of Commerce has also given its full support and chairman Ian Dodd said the campaign proved the local community wanted to make Corsham a better place to live and work.
The students had their hard work recognised when they came runners-up in the Central Wiltshire Young Enterprise competition last month.
The illustrated leaflet and website they have produced gives information on the different types of shops in the town and the wide selection of food, gifts and specialist items that can be bought.
There is also a brief shopping history of Corsham dating back to the seventh century. Coun Bosley said he hoped that every shop in Corsham would eventually be featured on the website.
