Brewery firm Wadworth has been helping Wiltshire's Special Constabulary drum up support for National Volunteers' Week, which begins tomorrow.

Draymen Adrian Noakes and Richard Berry, together with equine charges Buscot and Wilt, joined Warminster special constable Mary Kestell and Westbury special Katie Whitworth to help publicise activities planned for the week.

They delivered special beer mats, which feature telephone numbers for people interested in joining the Spec-ials, Victim Support, Witness Support, and Neighbourhood Watch.

The beer mats also highlight the Crime-stoppers number 0800 555 111, which can been used to report crime anonymously and provide intelligence to help solve crimes.

The specials are involved in a range of activities for National Volunteers' Week, which kicks off with a free fun afternoon at the Five Rivers Leisure Centre, Salisbury.

There is also the chance to find out more about becoming a Special, retained firefighter, or how to volunteer to help the Red Cross or St John Ambulance, WRVS.

Other events are featured on the police website www.wiltshire.police.uk and within the recruitment section for the specials.

Find out about becoming a special at War-minster Police Station on Tuesday from 7pm.
