THE LIONS CLUB family fun day in Bradford on Avon on Bank Holiday Mon-day raised thousands of pounds for charity.
The Lions, who raised just over £2,000 last year, say the crowds of happy fair-goers have helped them make this year's event a fundraising triumph and the total raised is expected to be around £3,000.
Club secretary Chris Penny said: "We had a wonderful day with large crowds. There was enjoyable entertainment, including falconry, the majorettes, lots of side-shows and a fantastic display of classic cars."
Kim Bloom's bottle stall was a popular addition, and had pundits paying to guess which of the bottles, held water, and which contained wine. A car boot sale also helped pull in bargain hunters. Fire officers at the fun day helped choose a fair prin-cess and prince from 14 hopefuls. The winners, Bethany Thompsett, aged six, and Daniel Lee, aged seven, were both from the Christ-church School in Bradford on Avon.
Money raised will be deposited into the Lions club's Charit-able Trust Account which funds local and national charity projects.
