Please spare a thought for the poor boy racers of Trow-bridge.
Ever since the police have taken over temporary residency of Parade House, their high profile has had a noticeable effect on the racers' town centre lap times, adding as much as 15 seconds from the starting grid at the old bus station, the rotters!
Whatever next? Perhaps the police might consider and it would be in keeping with their new period abode installing a set of stocks, as it would give us law-abiding citizens a chance to dispose of some of our out-of-date fruit and veg, even if some of it is tinned.
Last night as I cycled home in the twilight I swear I saw, bathed in flickering candlelight, a solitary figure incarcerated in the Blind House lock-up on the Town Bridge, maybe a trick of the light, possibly, or maybe the figure was that of one of the town's slower boy racers...
