PEOPLE in Penhill are being urged to go green. A host of activities are being held next weekend in a bid to get more people involved in local environmental issues.
Events are being organised as part of a Have A Say Day on Sunday, June 7.
The Penhill Forum, which is organising the day, is hoping that residents will come forward with suggestions for improving the area.
Marilyn Beale, secretary of the forum, said: "Nearly all the larger green spaces on the estate will be covered by some sort of activity, and we hope this will lead to local people coming forward with innovative ideas, including play equipment."
Everyone who attends is asked to fill a carrier bag with litter.
In return they will receive a free raffle ticket, giving them the chance to win a colour television or a flight in a microlight.
Events include a mini market at St Peter's Church, with information about green issues.
At the new Penhill Orchard, volunteers will be helping to build a compost heap.
An information day is being held at the Seven Fields Nature Reserve, and there will also be a guided walk along Groundwell Brook.
Stalls offering information about green issues will be set up at the John Moulton Hall, where compost bins will also be on sale.
Events run between 10am and 3pm.
