A PENSIONER from Lyneham says fighter jets flying near the RAF base have dislodged slates from his roof but the base denies all knowledge.
Retired engineer Peter Blackman, 65, lives in Chippenham Road with wife Brenda, a retired school canteen manageress.
Mr Blackman's complaint is one of 19 about the base logged so far this year. There were 162 last year.
His neighbour, Colin Parr, 59, says the same jets caused soot to fall from his chimney into his living room.
Mr and Mrs Blackman were away from their home for much of last week and the previous week.
He said: "After we got back, our neighbour asked whether we had noticed our roof.
"He said some jets had been over the week before, and had lifted some of our tiles. I came out and had a look, and quite a number of them had been dislodged."
Neighbour Mr Carr said he had also had slates dislodged by passing aircraft in the past.
RAF Lyneham spokesman Flt-Lt John Makinson-Saunders said: "If somebody makes a complaint there will be an investigation to see if anything has gone overhead.
"I have not seen or heard of any fighter aircraft coming into the station."
