I have just read the article relating to the Magic Roundabout's notoriety reaching Australia.
I recently received an internal company email from a Swedish engineer, which he had received from a friend in Sweden. It comprised of three pictures of the Magic Roundabout with various comments (now translated) about how crazy the English must be.
One actually said that it was a good thing that "those guys live on their own island".
The ironic part about this, was that it came to me and I was born and bred in Swindon and still visit family regularly. This e mail then did the rounds within the company and became the talking point for more than just that day.
My Canadian colleagues gave me a hard time questioning the logic (or lack of) relating to the traffic flow but I managed to convince them that it does work. At least, I think I did.
Now you can add Sweden and Canada to the list of countries who have been introduced to the Magic Roundabout.
