IN Response to Mr Titcombe's letter in the Advertiser of May 22 expressing scepticism as to the benefits of the recent twinning agreement between Swindon and Torun.
Obviously we should keep an eye on what the Council gets up to, but this time I think they have got an excellent result.
I'm a local businessman and have already spoken to a couple of companies in Torun regards our services. The Polish market is certainly small, however there are requirements for both hightech solutions as well as industrial machinery and property development.
Harford, a computer company from Trowbridge recently secured a deal with Poland worth half a million pounds.
The twinning agreement gives companies in Swindon a headstart, business organisations from both towns are talking with each other and a business conference is being planned for November.
Torun is one of Poland's finest cities, with a rich history and huge cultural capital, I think Swindon can be proud to be twinned with such a town, and I'm sure anyone who visits Torun will feel the same.
