After last year's incredible Golden Jubilee celebrations, it does seem surprising that little is being done to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Queen's Coronation.
Perhaps it is a sign of the times, signalling that people have less of an interest in royal affairs these days.
But the crowds in London and the celebrations across the country during the Golden Jubilee seemed to hint at a revived interest.
Whatever the explanation, if you have reason to celebrate today, then do so and be proud.
