FORMER television vet, Fiona Green, visited the Designer Outlet Village, to raise awareness of the Blue Cross adoption centre in Burford.
Fiona was one of the original vets from the BBC's Vet in Practice programme which followed the lives of trainee vets until the programme was finished by the BBC in mid-2002 after 11 series' over five years.
During her visit on Saturday, she spoke to pet owners and gave advice about adopting animals. Fiona explained: "I'm here to raise awareness for the Blue Cross centre and help encourage responsible pet ownership and try to encourage people to consider re-homing a pet rather than buying another. It is also about finding the right pet for your lifestyle, and not having Great Dane's living in a flat."
Fiona is no stranger to re-homing pets, Her eight-year old Collie Springer cross, Dottie, had been abandoned at just six months old and her two cats, Patsy named after Joanna Lumley's character in Absolutely Fabulous, and Dee Dee had also been abandoned. The Blue Cross adoption centre can be contacted on (01993) 822651.
