Health and Safety Executive (HSE) inspectors are visiting construction sites in Swindon during the first two weeks of this month.
They will be checking on the risks of falls from height, which remain the single biggest cause of death, disability and injury in construction, and account for almost half of all deaths.
The blitz will focus on making sure that where work at height is taking place, a proper assessment of the risks has been carried out.
In addition, inspectors will be looking to ensure that only competent contractors are used.
Said Chantal Nicholls, HSE Principal Inspector for Wiltshire: "Where we find unsafe work at height we will not hesitate in taking enforcement action."
