THE Mayor of Salisbury Cllr Sue Mallory was on hand to present the medals to local judo stars who shone at the first Low Grade Open Championships held at Five Rivers Leisure Centre.
Some 200 competitors took part with the area enjoying much success thanks to some strong performances from members of clubs from Moonrakers, Salisbury and Larkhill.
The Tournament, organised by respected judo instructor Peter Blakemore, was the first of a two-part project for which he received funding from the Millennium Award Scheme.
A High Grades competition may now be held at the venue in the near future.
