SHREWTON-based driver Rob Horsfield will be looking to consolidate his leads in both the Monoposto and Formula Honda Champ-ionships, when he races at Cadwell Park later this month.
Things are certainly looking rosy for the race ace, but last month proved a testing time for him.
May got off to the worst possible start at Lydden Hill in the Formula Honda Championship when Horsfield's throttle cable snapped while he was running second.
As a result, he had to start from the back of the grid for the second race but everything then went according to plan and he stormed through to claim second place.
Horsfield followed this up with two winning races at Snetterton in the Monoposto Champion-ship, then finished the month in the Castle Coombe round of Formula Honda, when he was lucky to qualify second on the grid.
"The competition in Honda is getting faster every race. I went a second faster than I had ever done before around Coombe, and still did not get on pole," said Horsfield.
The race was also looking a major challenge for second-placed Horsfield until the leader's car lost all drive on lap six. One lap later, his closest pursuer's engine blew up, leaving him with a comfortable cruise to the finishing line.
Horsfield has now won all five Monoposto Championship races and three of the five Formula Honda Championship races.
