TEENAGER Adam Stannard vowed to give up drugs after police arrested him after a drunken fracas in and discovered ecstasy tablets in his pocket, a court heard.
Stannard, 19, of The Firs, Kemble, appeared before magistrates in Chippenham on Monday when he pleaded guilty to possession of ecstasy, cannabis resin and cannabis.
Rhys Davies, prosecuting, said police were dealing with a drunken woman in Malmesbury when Stannard became involved.
Mr Davies said: "Stannard shouted at police and said he and his friend were going home and just wanted to be left alone."
The court heard how Stannard was arrested for being drunk and disorderly, but then police found seven ecstasy tablets in his pocket, worth £50.
His home was searched and £14 of cannabis resin and £30 of cannabis discovered. Officers also discovered several cannabis leaves displayed in picture frames.
Stannard told police the ecstasy was for his own use. He said he had tried to grow cannabis, but the crop was poor and he put the leaves in picture frames to remind him of his attempt.
Mike Jeary, defending, said: "As a result of the arrest he has decided to pack it in and confine himself to legal drugs for recreation."
The magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs and fined Stannard a total of £200.
