A SIGNED Arsenal team shirt and football failed to attract a single bid in a charity auction run by Malmesbury's Burton House School.
It had hoped the ball and shirt would raise £1,000 towards its £247,250 appeal to renovate its Abbey Leaze building, particularly after Arsenal's foreign imports won the FA Cup last month.
But since the auction was launched in April the school, which provides care and education for children with severe physical and learning disabilities, has not had a single bid.
Appeal committee member Kim Cobbold, who managed to get the kit from a director at the club, was saddened by the response. She said: "I am very disappointed. I would have thought there would have been ten or 20 bids. Maybe there are no Arsenal supporters in Wiltshire.
"I know a friend who is willing to bid £120 but we were hoping to raise about £1,000. There must a business man somewhere who would be willing to help."
The closing date was last week, but the committee has extended the deadline until next Thursday.
Anyone wishing to bid for either the ball or shirt should sent sealed bid to The Abbey Leaze Appeal Office, Burton Hill School, Chippenham Road, Malmesbury, SN160EG.
