THE county final of a national Kwik Cricket competition is due to take place at Devizes Cricket Club on Friday June 20.
Almost 1,000 boys and girls from across Wiltshire will be embarking on the first of four rounds of the National Kwik Cricket Tournament the previous week, Friday June 13, with 96 teams participating in the first stage at six separate venues across the county.
The winning teams will go through to the county final in Devizes and the top team will progress to the regional final.
The winners of the regional final will then travel to Trent Bridge, the test cricket ground at Nottingham, on July 15 to take part in the national final.
Tournament co-ordinator, Alan Crouch, said: "With over 90 teams playing this year, 16 more than last year, the popularity of the game is obviously spreading countywide."
