A BELLIGERENT belligerent 56 from Andy Hodder helped Devizes to ease past Westbury in the preliminary round of the Jack Wilcox Trophy on Thursday.
Hodder in partnership with Paul Stobbart, who made 38, put on an entertaining 103 for the first wicket although Westbury will have been disappointed with several missed chances in the field.
Both openers played some glorious strokes, striking the ball cleanly in an arc from cover to midwicket.
Hart was Westbury's most successful bowler picking up three for 42.
In reply, Westbury struggled against the pace of James Ashford-Brown and the accuracy of Neil Doran, who both picked up two wickets to undermine the top order.
Only Hart showed any resistance until he was dismissed by Joe Hickey, flicking a slower ball to deep square leg.
Devizes move on to face Wootton Basset in the next round.
