NORTH WILTS JUNIOR LEAGUE: Under 13s: CHIPPENHAM entertained Erlestoke in a match dominated by two outstanding innings.

Centuries do not occur very often in Under 13 cricket so to have two scored in the one game is quite extraordinary.

Batting first, Chippenham lost three early wickets to Toby Mullins (4-44) when ten-year-old Uzair Qureshi joined opener Liam Dawson.

The pair added 98 before Qureshi departed for a mature 24. Dawson went from strength to strength displaying a wide range of shots as he hit 17 boundaries in his maiden century before being eventually dismissed for 110, enabling Chippenham to declare at 201-8 in 33 overs.

Erlestoke lost early wickets to swing bowler Omar Ali Javed (4-23) and were 12-3 when captain Toby Dorgan came to the wicket. Carefully Dorgan looked to rebuild the innings before he opened up to display a fine array of shots, including a six hit into a neighbouring garden, and ensured that Erlestoke achieved a draw.

Dorgan also reached his first hundred before he was out in the final over for 101 (13 fours and 3 sixes) as Erlestoke finished on 166-8.

At Wootton Bassett, visitors Westbury were dismissed for just 65 in 29 overs with Dean Williamson (3-10), Tom Davies (2-4) and Jonathan Aitkenhead (2-13) doing the damage. Williamson (19 not out) and Sean Toomey (14 not out) then guided Bassett to a comfortable eight wicket victory.

Cannings reached 117-9 in 35 overs at Biddestone with Neil Clark top scoring with 29. In reply, the home side struggled against the bowling of Mamunul Wahid (4-8). Jake Roberts also took two wickets as Biddestone were dismissed for 85 to leave Cannings winners by 32 runs.

In a very low scoring match at Purton, visitors Swindon were dismissed for just 41 in 12 overs. Robert Dean (3-7), Sam Walton (2-8), Aaron Lee (2-9), and Joseph Mills (2-12) took the wickets for Purton. Purton found batting just as difficult as Nathan Iles (4-10) and Elliott Read (3-14) led the Swindon fightback. However, amid much excitement, Purton managed to scrape home by just one wicket.

Under 15s: CANNINGS continue to set the pace after they recorded their third straight win at home to Wootton Bassett.

Batting first, Bassett had no answer to the pace bowling of Adam Croutear who took 6-17 in 8.3 overs. Guy Perritt also took two wickets as the visitors were bowled out for 59. Perritt (23) and David Russell (16 not out) took Cannings to a comfortable five wicket victory.

Westbury posted 198 all out against visitors Purton, who replied with 125 only Nasir Nawaz (25) offering much resistance.
