South Newton 270-6
(Hampshire League
North Division One)
SOUTH Newton batted first after winning the toss, and amassed a seemingly unsurpassable 270-6 - thought to be the highest score ever made by the club.
Newcomer Stuart Part-ridge batted through for 141 not out, aided by Tim Moulding, 31, and Nick Moulding, 28.
Michelmersh started steadily, but at the half-way stage had lost five wickets and still required 170 runs off the last 20 overs to win.
Hedley completed a fine 74, before McGregor smashed an unbeaten 82, which included 65 in the last eight overs, to set up victory by three wickets with an over to spare.
Des Jeffery was the pick of the South Newton bowlers with 3-60 off his 12 overs.
