TWO Hamptworth Golf Club members have qualified for the semi-finals of the largest competition for club golfers in the world.
Alfie Luke and Malcolm Monti will head north of the border to the home of the sport later this year hoping to secure a place in the final of the 2003 Inter-national Pairs tournament.
The duo will join hundreds of other golfers in Scotland for their championship round after winning the qualifying contest at their Hampshire club.
If they make the cut in the semi-finals, they will then move on to the magnificent St Andrews Bay Golf Resort and Spa to compete in the televised two-day grand final.
Any clubs who have not yet registered for this year's competition, but wish to do so, should ring the organisers on 02392 827000.
With just one round to go, two young Salisbury golfers are in with a real chance of glory in this year's Faldo Junior Series.
Hamptworth's Matt Lawrence currently leads the under 21s Order of Merit after shooting 77 to finish in second place at a wet Marriott St Pierre course.
The victory earned him 12 points to give him a total of 24 after two rounds.
Meanwhile, Salisbury & South Wilts youngster Sam Elkins picked up 8.5 points following his round of 78 which gave him a share of fourth place. The 16-year-old is now third overall in the under 16s section with 20.5 points.
The third and final round is on June 24 at the Royal Porthcawl course - one of Wales' toughest links courses.
Mere golfing prodigy Henrietta Brock-way is in fourth place in the girls section after a round of 85 boosted her total from ten to 18 points.
