HUNDREDS of young footballers will converge when AFC Corsham hold their annual six-a-side tournament this weekend.
A total of 320 teams will congregate at the Leafy Lane playing fields in Rudloe for the two-day football festival.
Clubs from as far afield as Wales and Berkshire will visit Wiltshire for one of the biggest junior soccer competitions of the summer schedule.
Boys' divisions run from under sevens through to under 15s, with girls sections at under 12 and under 14 level.
Odd age groups will be played on Saturday, with even age groups and the girls' groups taking place on Sunday.
Tournament organiser Peter Fellows believes the well-established event's superb reputation always guarantees an excellent turnout.
"We're in our 13th year now and we always attract a lot of interest," he said.
"We have 30 teams in the under 15 group alone and I don't think you get that anywhere else.
"Newport Corinthians are coming, along with Calcot FC from Berkshire, lots of teams from Bristol and plenty of local clubs.
"There will be 60 different clubs represented in all and we're looking forward to a good weekend of football."
The action kicks off at 9am on each day. For further information contact Fellows on (01225) 811828.
