POLICE hope they are hot on the trail of vandals who broke into a village hall and used its microwave to warm their supper.
They clambered onto the roof of toilets at the back Upavon Village Hall and got in through a skylight window.
Once inside, they took a fire extinguisher and the liberty of using the hall's microwave to heat up some food that they supplied themselves.
Apart from the crumbs of their meal, eaten at leisure because the break in occurred at any time between Friday May 23 and the following Wednesday, the only evidence police found was three cigarette stubs.
The fire extinguisher was later found abandoned near the hall.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pewsey police on (01672) 562222.
