LEGENDARY South African township jive band The Soul Brothers have had to cancel an Old Town Bowl appearance following the death of their lead singer.
The band were due to appear on Saturday in the first of this year's World Music concerts.
However, the death of lead singer Sipho Mkhanda from a stroke means they have had to cancel an entire UK tour.
The band will be replaced at short notice by Congolese singing star Robert Maseko and his band, Congobeat. The band, which plays African dance music, has two vocalists, bass, two guitars and drums.
Toby Rathbone, Swindon Art-scape's performing arts officer, said: "My sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
"We are very lucky indeed to have found such an eminent replacement in Robert Maseko and Congobeat. I am sure the audience will not be disappointed."
If customers who have already bought tickets do not wish to see Robert Maseko, they can obtain refunds from the outlet where they bought their tickets.
