Uniformed caretakers are preparing to take to the streets of Penhill.
A pilot scheme introducing five caretakers will start on June 14 aimed at providing a safe and clean estate.
The workers will wear uniforms so residents will be able to recognise them.
It is also hoped the scheme will offer a speedier response to resolving environmental issues on the estate.
Residents will be able to refer issues directly to the caretakers and have problems assessed immediately.
Councillor Andy Albinson (Con, Dorcan), lead member for housing services, said: "I hope that the new service being provided by housing services will make a real difference to the quality of life for people living in the area.
"I am sure that the scheme will make Penhill safer and cleaner and I am positive that with the help of the residents it will be an overwhelming success."
The caretaker service will be launched by Michael Wills, North Swindon MP, at Braydon Court Shopping Parade, Penhill Drive.
