A state-of-the-art housing estate in the heart of Calne, using the latest environmentally friendly technology, was officially opened on Wednesday.
Built by Westlea Housing Association, the Stokes Croft development uses recyclable building materials, renewable energy sources, solar panels and low powered lighting.
At the opening local residents, including nearly 50 children, gathered in a marquee with housing staff, councillors and contractors who worked on the redevelopment.
Resident Sarah Elliott, who spoke about the growing sense of community spirit on the new estate, said: "Today is about more than just the building of new homes, it's about the people who live in them."
Westlea Housing Association commissioned the £4 million project, which was built in partnership with Wiltshire County Council, North Wiltshire District Council and Calne Town Council.
