MAJOR Charles Ingram from Easterton, near Devizes, pleaded not guilty to five new charges in regard to home insurance policies when he appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court last Thursday.
Major Ingram, 39, of The Grange, High Street, Easterton, had already denied two charges of attempting to gain a pecuniary advantage by making false statements to get home contents insurance cover with Zurich Municipal Insurance and Direct Line Insurance by misrepresenting the number of insurance claims he had made, in 1997 and 2001 respectively.
Before Judge Samuel Wiggs on Thursday, he pleaded not guilty to a further five charges of obtaining money transfer by deception, concerning a total of £32,000, from Zurich Municipal and Direct Line between March 18 1999 and August 10 2001.
Major Ingram, who was supported by his wife Diana sitting on the public benches, wore a fawn suit with a red check shirt and a red tie.
The trial is likely to begin in late September or early October and Major Ingram was released on unconditional bail.
